I am glad to know you are reading Executable UML.

The .bak files referenced on the web site are so old that they are not supported for import into BridgePoint. It is theoretically possible, but you would need to have several versions of BridgePoint from the various years since 2002. You would import them into BP 5.1 2002. Then you would upgrade them into intervening year versions of BridgePoint. The current (open source) version of BridgePoint cannot understand the .bak format from so long ago. :(
